A 40-year-old man was killed and six people were injured - one moderately and five lightly - in an explosion on a truck carrying beer barrels in Jaffa on Friday afternoon. The blast was apparantly caused by a leaking gas canister. The truck, which was traveling on the city's Yefet St., hit a building, but it was unclear whether the crash occurred before or after the blast. Magen David Adom officials said that the fatality was apparently a foreign worker. Two of the casualties were evacuated to Wolfson Hospital in Holon, while the other four were taken Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital. In addition to the truck, which was destroyed, ten cars were damaged in the blast, some of them catching fire. Firefighters were checking the extent of the damage to buildings in the vicinity.
