A resident of Shfaram, who on Monday evening left his car for a few minutes with the keys - and his four-month-old baby - inside, returned from an errand to find that his car, and the baby, had been stolen.
Assisted from a passer-by with a motorbike, the man set out in pursuit of the stolen vehicle and his baby.
Meanwhile, witnesses informed police, which quickly deployed a helicopter and began spreading roadblocks throughout the area.
Eventually, the stolen car was found abandoned in the village of I'billin, the baby safe and sound inside.
The authorities were conducting searches for the car-thief and unwitting baby-napper.
