A resident of the Beduin community of Rahat was lightly wounded after a Kassam landed near a factory in the industrial area of the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council on Tuesday morning. A second person suffered from shock.
A second rocket fired at Sderot sent two other residents into shock.
IAF aircraft fired at launching sites after the morning's attack, but did not directly hit launchers.
The targeted factory produces vegetables and its workers are former Gush Katif residents. The Of Kor chicken processing plant, not far from the point of attack, has also hit in past Kassam attacks. The rocket, landing in the factory's parking lot, caused no damage to property.
Magen David Adom teams were alerted to the scene and treated the wounded before they were evacuated to Barzilai Hospital in Ahkelon.
Meanwhile, northern Gush Katif residents announced Monday morning that they were willing to return and settle in their former homes from which they were evacuated in the Disengagement in order to act as security buffers for Israeli towns in the western Negev.
Israel's disengagement from the Gaza Strip was a mistake and it must be fixed, Army Radio quoted former Elei Sinai resident, Avi Farhan, as saying.
"The fact is that [Palestinians] are firing [rockets] at Sderot, Ashkelon and the western Negev from my home in Elei Sinai. The solution is to return us to our homes. This will solve two problems: Both a security problem and our rehabilitation problem."
"Even today, when we are two years after [the evacuation], we are yet to be settled in permanent housing. We still live in rental homes," said Farhan.
