Palestinian killed in clash

One Palestinian teenager was killed and two were wounded in clashes Sunday with the IDF in the West Bank. The Associated Press reported that soldiers shot and killed Ayad Hashash, 17, as he tried to throw a bomb at them while they were making arrests in the Balata refugee camp. That account came from Nasser Abu Aziz, an Aksa Martyrs Brigades leader in Nablus. However, the IDF Spokesman said that, while paratroopers did sweep through Balata in the course of arresting three wanted men in the early morning hours, there were no reports of anyone being shot. If a Palestinian was killed, it was due to his own mishandling of a grenade, military sources said. In contrast, there were two confirmed accounts of wounded Palestinians in the Nablus area. In one incident, Palestinians engaged in clashes with IDF soldiers accidentally hit an Arab teenager with a Molotov cocktail, setting him on fire, and in the other soldiers shot a Palestinian about to throw a concrete block. Both were evacuated from the scene by the Palestinians.
