Shoah survivors' care to move to social affairs

Welfare Minister Isaac Herzog announced his intent to move the care of Holocaust survivors from the Finance Ministry to the Social Affairs Ministry, Army Radio reported Sunday. Representatives from the Finance Ministry, National Insurance Institute, the Jewish Agency and the Prime Minister's office were present at the meeting. The meeting was summoned in correlation with not only Holocaust Day, but also in reaction to extensive media attention to the fact that 80,000 survivors in Israel live below the poverty line.
