Whoever thought summer had arrived was in for a surprise on Thursday morning as snow blanketed the North and then began falling in the Jerusalem area. Overnight Wednesday, 25 centimeters of snow fell in the Mount Hermon area, resulting in the site being closed to tourists on Thursday. In addition, classes were canceled at schools in the northern Golan Heights. In Jerusalem, however, classes were in session as usual, and public transportation was not affected by the snow. Snow last fell in Jerusalem at the end of December.
