Soldier hurt as Arab tries to grab gun

Police searching for suspect who fled, leaving behind screwdriver, flip-flops.

An IDF soldier was lightly wounded on Thursday when he was attacked at Karkur Junction. The soldier reported that an Arab man tried to steal his gun, hit him in the head and stabbed him with a screwdriver several times in his left arm. Police were searching for the suspected attacker who fled the scene, leaving behind the screwdriver and his flip-flops. The owner of a pair of glasses found at the scene was yet to be identified. In addition to the wide searches, police were investigating sightings of the suspect on Pardes Hanna's Nahal Street and were also checking reports that the suspect escaped on a truck near Hadera.
