An IDF soldier and a border policeman were lightly wounded after rocks were thrown at them on Friday during a protest against the continued construction on the West Bank security fence in Bil'in, west of Ramallah.
Some 60 Palestinians and left-wing activists, from Israel and abroad, participated in the protest.
The IDF said that the protestors were ordered by troops to stay away from the area after they attempted to damage the fence, and responded by throwing rocks at the soldiers, who forcibly dispersed the rioters by firing rubber bullets.
Both the soldier and the policeman were treated at the scene. Five of the protesters were also lightly wounded.
Protests against the security fence, whose route cuts through the village of Bil'in, have been weekly events for over a year and a half, and often culminate in violent scuffle between security forces and anti-fence activists.
