State Attorney's Office protests Katsav bargain

An internal petition has been published among the lawyers for the State Attorney's Office against the plea bargain in the sexual crimes case against former president Moshe Katsav, Channel Two reported on Monday. The petition, which was sent to the attorneys via electronic mail, called for a public trial, as was initially planned. "We are of the opinion that the plea bargain raises serious doubts due to the number of complaints of severe offenses that were not included in the indictment, and because the punishment is inappropriate and does not reflect the seriousness of the crimes.
