Teenagers from rocket-hit towns tour Italy

Some 130 children from the North and Sderot flew on Monday to Rome, Trieste and Pisa for two weeks to take part in summer camps funded by the Jewish communities in Italy and organized by the New Jerusalem Foundation. The cost of the project amounted to $200,000. JNF director Zvi Raviv said that the children, aged 13 to 17, were chosen from among 10 towns, cities and settlements that had been hit by Hizbullah or Hamas rockets. These include Kiryat Shmona, Nahariya, Acre, Kiryat Motzkin, Ma'alot, Karmiel, Haifa, Tiberias, Rosh Pina and Sderot. The youngsters will tour the Italian cities and countryside with guides and security men in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry, the Israeli Embassy in Rome and the Association of Italian Immigrants.
