Avi Nir, the director-general of the Channel 2 concessionaire, Keshet, was lightly wounded on Monday night when he was attacked by two unidentified assailants as he walked his dog in a park near his north Tel Aviv home. Nir told police that the two attackers asked him his name before they began to beat him with clubs and planks of wood. Nir sustained bruises to his face and was evacuated by an MDA team to Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital. Passersby noticed the assault and called police but the assailants managed to flee before officers arrived at the scene. Police said the reason for the attack was unclear and that it appeared Nir did not know the identity of the assailants.
