Two Arabs held for Jerusalem stabbing

Two Arabs residents of east Jerusalem were under arrest Tuesday for allegedly stabbing a haredi teen near the Damascus Gate six weeks ago, police said. The two suspects, aged 17 and 23, who have been remanded in custody throughout the duration of their trial, will be indicted later this week in the Jerusalem District Court. The prime suspect in the case told investigators that he had planned the stabbing for six months "since the Jews want to enter the al-Aksa mosque and make it impure," Jerusalem police spokesman Shumel Ben-Ruby said. The Jewish teen stabbed in the attack suffered light to moderate wounds.
