Mayor Bloomberg says "there is no place for acts of hate in New York City," following vandalism; police investigating as hate crime.
By JPOST.COM STAFFNew York City Police were investigating the spray-painting of six swastikas in the predominantly Orthodox Jewish neighborhood of Borough Park in Brooklyn on Friday, including on one synagogue.Local politicians were quick to condemn the Nazi symbols."There is no place for acts of hate in New York City," Mayor Michael Bloomberg said in a statement.A hate crimes task force was investigating the vandalism, local media reported.In addition to the synagogue, the swastikas were found on the wall of a school, a deli and a number of businesses, NBC New York reported.
