Hassan Mahmoud Rashad, the head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service, arrived in Israel on Tuesday and met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials, a source familiar with the matter told The Jerusalem Post before it was announced by the Prime Minister’s Office.
Netanyahu and his professional team met with the head of Egyptian intelligence in the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem.
Advancing US President Donald Trump’s framework, Israel-Egypt relations, and strengthening the peace between the two countries, and additional regional issues were among the range of topics discussed.
According to the Egyptian state-affiliated Al Qahera News, Rashad discussed the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip and overcoming obstacles to implementing Trump’s proposal.
Rashad is also reportedly scheduled to meet with US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, who is currently visiting Israel.
