A woman was injured after a missile fell on a three-story building in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Friday night, a security source told Sky News Arabia

Prior to the official's comments, there were reports of an explosion being heard in the Al-Hadath neighborhood of Damascus.

There was a heavy security presence in the Mezzeh district of Damascus after the explosion was heard, and ambulances were rushing to the area, Asharq reported. Unknown assailants were reportedly targeting the home.

The area targeted in Damascus includes diplomatic buildings and headquarters, according to Al Jazeera.

Investigations into missile strike

Security officials told the site they were investigating the incident.

The Syrian Defense Ministry then told state-owned news agency SANA that it and the country's Interior Ministry are investigating the attack.
