The IDF struck several Hezbollah weapons storage facilities across southern Lebanon belonging to the terror group's rocket unit, the military confirmed Wednesday afternoon.
These weapon storage facilities were located in the heart of the civilian population, the military said.
Earlier, the military issued an urgent evacuation warning for residents of southern Lebanon, announcing that the military would soon strike near the village of Deir Qanun Al-Nahr.
Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF's Arabic spokesperson, released a statement on X/Twitter directing Lebanese civilians to evacuate buildings adjacent to where Hezbollah is allegedly attempting to rebuild terror capabilities.
"Urgent Alert to Residents of Southern Lebanon, Specifically in the Village of Deir Qanun Al-Nahr," Adraee wrote. "The IDF will attack in the near term military infrastructure belonging to the terrorist Hezbollah in order to address the prohibited attempts by Hezbollah to rebuild its activities in the area."
The IDF recommended that civilians stay a minimum of 300 meters away from the area set to be targeted, which is illustrated in a map attached to the statement.
Additional IDF strikes against Hezbollah
Over Tuesday night, the IDF killed two Hezbollah terrorists during a pair of strikes in the Bint Jbeil and Blida areas of southern Lebanon.
Tuesday's strikes targeted terrorists "involved in reestablishment activities for the Hezbollah terrorist organization" and “observed gathering intelligence on IDF troops," according to an IDF statement released on Wednesday morning.
The IDF cited terrorist “violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon” as the reason for the strikes, affirming its commitment to “continue to operate to remove any threat and protect the State of Israel."
