A new field hospital was established in the Gaza Strip, the Coordinator of the Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) announced on Friday.

In coordination with the International Medical Corps, COGAT established the hospital to expand essential medical services in areas of prenatal care, mental Health, physiotherapy, and inpatient care for Palestinian civilians.

The new hospital currently employs 200 medical and support staff and has begun treating more than 1,000 patients a day.

The hospital is currently able to offer 150 beds to those in need and is the 15th field hospital established in coordination with the international community since the start of the war, COGAT announced.

Humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip

The organization confirmed earlier this week that, in addition to the construction of the new medical center, 4,200 trucks carrying humanitarian goods have entered Gaza each week, of which 70% carried food.
