A cyberattack on Iran's Sepah Bank on Tuesday morning caused disruptions in the bank's online services, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)-controlled Fars News reported.

Sepah Bank is also run by the IRGC.

The bank's online systems are also connected to many of Iran's gas stations, causing disruptions to services there, Fars News added. The report did not assign responsibility for the attack.

However, anti-regime activist group "Gonjeshke Darande" (Predatory Sparrow) claimed responsibility for the attack, which they claim "destroyed" Sepah Bank's data.

Sepah Bank "was an institution that circumvented international sanctions and used the people of Iran’s money to finance the regime’s terrorist proxies, its ballistic missile program, and its military nuclear program," the activists claim.

Anti-regime activists thank 'brave Iranians' for cyberattack operation

"This is what happens to institutions dedicated to maintaining the dictator’s terrorist fantasies. We thank the brave Iranians whose help made this operation possible," they added.

The group also claimed responsibility for a similar cyberattack in December 2023, which it claimed disabled the majority of gas stations across Iran.
