The Israeli Air Force successfully killed Mohammad Reza Ashrafi Kahi, a senior commander in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Oil Headquarters, on Friday, the military announced on Sunday.
The IRGC's Oil Headquarters generates billions of dollars annually in profits for the Iranian regime's brutal police force through oil sales.
Kahi served as the Head of Commerce, the IDF said, and advanced the development of both the IRGC and the regime's proxies across the Middle East, such as the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Hamas.
The IDF also stated that Kahi's activities funded Iran's ballistic missiles and drones, which it has used to attack Israel and Gulf countries since the start of Operation Roaring Lion.
Israel struck over 120 sites in center and western Iran over the last day, the military also announced on Sunday.
Among the targets struck were infrastructure for Iran's ballistic missiles, drone storage and deployment facilities, and air defense sites.
The destroyed targets, the IDF said, had posed a threat to Israeli planes, and their destruction preserves the Air Force's airspace sovereignty over Iran.
IDF kills Iranian Oil Headquarters commander
Last week, the IDF said it struck and killed Jamshid Eshaqi, the commander of Iran's Oil Headquarters.
“Eshaqi led the financial arm of the regime’s forces as well as the military industries responsible for the production of ballistic missiles and the regime’s mechanisms of repression,” the IDF stated. “In addition, Eshaqi worked to allocate funds for financing Iran’s terror proxies across the Middle East, most notably the Hezbollah terror organization and the Houthis.”
