Palestinian Authority prime minister submits resignation

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salaam Fayad submitted his resignation to PA President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday.
Fayad said the resignation would take effect after the formation of a Palestinian unity government, but no later than the end of March.
His announcement comes just before the resumption of power-sharing talks between Abbas and his rivals from Hamas.
Hamas has repeatedly demanded that Fayad step down.
