Roadside bomb kills US soldier in Iraq

A roadside bomb killed a US soldier in Diyala province, the military said Saturday. The soldier died of injuries sustained in the explosion, which occurred Friday, according a statement. The brief statement announcing the soldier's death provided no further details about the attack and the soldier's identity was not released pending notification of relatives. The death raised to at least 3,631 members of the US military who have died since the Iraq war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
