A suicide bomb attack on the family of anti-insurgent tribal leader has left one person dead near Fallujah on Sunday afternoon, a police official said.
The official said the blast killed the son of Sheik Khalid al-Eifan, whose clan had joined the uprising against al-Qaida in Iraq in the western province of Anbar.
Police Capt. Hameed al-Jumaili said the attacker first set off a concussion bomb to draw the family into a courtyard before detonating the blast in an area south of Fallujah.
The Sunni tribal revolt has severely crippled the insurgents' power in Anbar in recent years, but sporadic attacks still target clan leaders.
