Syrian Ambassador to the US Imad Moustapha told CNN on Sunday that he would prefer to work with Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman than with former foreign minister Tzipi Livni. "Personally I believe it is better to deal with someone like Lieberman than it is to do deal with someone like Livni," he said in the interview. "At least Lieberman is candid. He exactly says what he believes in. Tzipi Livni and her colleagues were talking all the time about their desire to make peace while committing the atrocity in Gaza or doing other similar things in the Palestinian territories." The ambassador also praised US Middle East Envoy George Mitchell, calling him "a person known for his integrity, fairness, and his capability to deliver." Moustapha opined that the US had "a moral obligation to sponsor peace talks between the Arabs and the Israelis [due to] US support for Israel," which he claimed "enabled [Israel] to sustain policies of occupation." "Israel will be very careful not to say no to the US administration and the US president," he added.
