US and allies commit to find Tueni assassins

The United States announced late Monday that it planned to work alongside its allies to uncover who was responsible for the assassination of the Lebanese journalist and anti-Syrian activist Gibran Tueni on Monday morning. The spokesman for the US State Department further mentioned they intended to consider the Lebanese parliament's request to assemble an investigative UN commission, similar to the one charged with investigating the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri. He committed, on behalf of the United States, to help the Lebanese government to ensure that the killers would be brought to justice.
