Starmer stated that additional British fighter jets, helicopters, and a destroyer were being sent to the Middle East, and affirmed that the UK would support the defence of Saudi Arabia if needed. 

An Israeli source cautioned that there was pushback from the Iraqi Kurds, and without their practical support it would be hard for the Iranian Kurds to mobilize.

Washington expects US objectives in the region to be completed in four to six weeks, according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.

The attacks come amid more than 500 strikes on targets in Lebanon since the start of the operation, the IDF added.
