Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz is due to be discharged on Thursday from the internal medicine department of Hadassah- University Medical Center in Jerusalem’s Ein Kerem neighborhood after completing a battery of tests.
Late on Tuesday, Steinitz was admitted to the emergency room complaining of exhaustion.
The 52-year-old doctor of philosophy was found to be suffering from fatigue but had no signs of heart disease, so he was sent to the internal medicine department, where Prof. Eldad Ben-Sheetrit examined him and launched a series of tests.
Saying on Wednesday that he felt “excellent,” Steinitz is staying in a room for two, with his security guards watching over him.
During his hospitalization on Wednesday, he continued to work and was even interviewed on the radio. He has been under a lot of pressure over the last week to adjust the budget to reduce taxes on gasoline and other products and services, clashing over the issue with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
