A 16-year-old Beersheba teen died Saturday morning, hours after he was stabbed to death during a brawl with a local teen at a house party in the city’s upscale Ramot neighborhood hours earlier.
Magen David Adom Paramedics said that around 3 a.m. Saturday morning they were called to the scene on Shlomo Ben-Tzvi Street, where they found the teen lying unconscious covered in blood. Paramedics said they attempted to treat the youth at the scene but were forced to evacuate him to Beersheba’s Soroka Hospital for emergency treatment.
Hours later, the hospital announced that the teen had succumbed to his wounds.
Shortly after the teen was evacuated to Soroka hospital, a police patrol picked up a 16-year-old suspect they believe may have been involved in the stabbing. Police said the youth will be brought for a remand extension Saturday night at the Beersheba Magistrate‘s court.
The victim and the suspected perpetrator were both at a party Friday night when they allegedly became intoxicated and a verbal altercation quickly turned violent. It was at this point that the suspect allegedly stabbed his friend and classmate.
Also Saturday, a 20-year-old man was rushed to Ashkelon’s Barzilay Hospital in serious condition after he was stabbed during a brawl on Moshav Ahuzam.
