The precedent-setting Israeli attack against Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs, including the scientists behind it and regime leadership, has brought to a head Iran’s five-decade dedication to destroying Israel.
This is a moment for an America and Israel First policy embodying a shared vision and commitment to eliminating the world’s leading sponsor, purveyor, and executor of regional and global terrorism.
America and Israel First means freedom first, for both countries. This fateful moment requires an air-tight US-Israel alliance that serves the national security interests of both countries independently as well as collectively, to advance what Prime Minister Netanyahu’s “Abraham Security Alliance” was when addressing a joint session of Congress in August 2024.
An America and Israel First alliance is rooted in modern political history. This moment of historical reckoning is reminiscent of the fateful decisions of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, in leading the Allied forces in defeating the Nazi regime and the Axis powers.
History has taught the free world the catastrophic cost of failing to defeat existential threats posed by supremacist regimes fueled by extremist ideologies and bent on regional and global subversion and domination. As former CIA chief James Woolsey noted in 2015, the Iranian regime is the Nazi Germany of our time.
British Historian Andrew Roberts noted in The Free Press that Trump faces the same choice Churchill confronted when deciding to sink the Vichy French fleet: allow a potential threat to grow into an existential menace, or act decisively to prevent catastrophe.
Iran has targeted US and Israel equally
Trump’s June 18 statement, “For 40 years, they’ve been saying ‘death to America,’ death to Israel,” reflects his keen understanding that the Iranian regime has targeted the United States and Israel equally.
The regime's enmity toward the United States, Israel, and the West has remained constant since the regime’s 1979 kidnapping of 52 American hostages, held for 444 days.
Since then, more than one thousand American military personnel and civilians have been killed by the Islamic Republic and its terror proxies, from Lebanon and Iraq to Yemen and Saudi Arabia. In addition, thousands of Arabs and Jews have been murdered, maimed, and kidnapped, most recently in Iran-backed Hamas’s October 7 massacre.
Trump’s demand that the regime surrender unconditionally and concede any uranium enrichment reflects his understanding of the virtual impossibility of negotiating with a messianic death cult.
The mullahs seek not only territorial expansion but also ideological, religious global domination. Iran's Twelver Shiite eschatology calls for targeting the United States and Israel, the “forces of injustice” and the “corrupt and arrogant powers,” as a prerequisite for the reappearance of the occulted Mahdi, the Shiite messiah.
Iran’s genocidal messianism justifies the regime’s systematic oppression of its Christians, Zoroastrians, and Baha'i. The regime also regards Sunni Muslim lives, including those of their Hamas proxies, as expendable, and Sunni regimes to be “illegal.”
America and Israel First also means helping free more than 90 million Iranians from decades of brutal oppression, torture, and executions.
China-Russia-Iran axis
Trump is likely aware that the Iranian regime is the weak link in the China-Russia-Iran axis. Neutralizing the Iranian regime seriously degrades China’s economic power. Iran exports more than 90% of its oil to China, while Russia provides Iran with drones and weapons.
China and Russia have allowed Iran proxy access and diplomatic cover for their actions in the United Nations. The false narrative that stopping Iran's nuclear program would trigger World War III serves the purposes of Russia, China, Iran, and their media-manipulating ally Qatar.
The opposite is true: attacking Iran will prevent a future nuclear war. The anti-West axis has employed disinformation and strategic influence campaigns that have penetrated both the far left and the isolationist extreme right in the United States and Europe.
This underscores the importance of America and Israel’s shared regional vision and strategy. Similar to the post-Second World War “new world order” established at the Yalta conference in 1945, the above-mentioned Abraham Security Alliance is an extension of the 2020 Abraham Accords normalization agreements.
The Alliance promotes regional security, stability, and economic cooperation and collaboration. In addition, Israel and US interests converge in the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) proposed in 2023, a multi-modal transportation and economic corridor aimed at enhancing connectivity and economic integration, a US-backed strategic counter to China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Grand Ayatollah Khomeini’s promise of “Death to America and death to Israel” in 1979 upon his return to Tehran from exile in Paris underscores the importance of both allies working shoulder to shoulder to eliminate the common threat.
Israel has taken the lead in dismembering the Iranian regime’s terror infrastructure, its nuclear and ballistic missile sites, and decapitating the strategists and leadership behind the Iranian death machine. The United States has provided critical assistance to Israel to help it defend itself.
Now, the United States and Israel together have the opportunity to do what was impossible in 1945, before the establishment of the Jewish state: to destroy and dismantle the Nazi regime of our time.
