Andy Ram and Yoni Erlich continued their outstanding play at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, Netherlands, with a first-round upset of top-seeded Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor on Wednesday night, 6-4, 6-4. The defending champs, who also reached the final in 2004, defeated Knowles and Nestor for only the third time, the first of which came in the Israelis' career-defining win in the 2003 Wimbledon quarterfinals. They will next face Mahesh Bhupathi of India and South African Wesley Moodie, who reached the second round via walkover when their scheduled opponents, rising Serbian star Novak Djokovic and Italy's Andreas Seppi, withdrew.
