Shay Doron was on the New York Liberty's bench, but wasn't given any court time by coach Pat Coyle during the Liberty's 83-71 victory over the Chicago Sky on Sunday, the WNBA season opener for both teams.
Doron became the first Israeli woman to be chosen in the WNBA draft on April 4 after being selected by New York with the 16th pick overall.
The 22-year-old Israeli, who wasn't guaranteed a contract because of her second-round selection, secured herself a spot on the Liberty's roster after making it through the team's training camp.
