House Democrats announced the formal articles of impeachment on Tuesday, to which Trump responded with a series of tweets attacking politicians and urging his followers to "read the transcript."
"The time for patience has long expired," Republican Lindsey Graham and Democrat Chris Van Hollen said.
Graham discussed the possible Senate move at the Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA) gala event in Washington.
Lindsey reassured American Jewry that we were not alone and that we had friends who stood with us against Iran’s promise to destroy Israel.
"This announcement is a repudiation of President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry's ill-informed efforts to target Israeli presence in the West Bank."
"Misinformation affects us all. Our current policies on fact-checking people in political office, or those running for office, are a threat to what FB stands for."
In an interview with Fox News Channel, Graham said a conversation he had with Trump over the weekend had fueled his optimism.
Sen. Graham harshly criticized Trump's decision to pull US troops out of Syria earlier this week, along with several other prominent conservatives, calling it "a disaster in the making."
With Trump’s help and an invitation to the White House next month, the invasion began Tuesday morning.
