The largely discredited theory states that Ashkenazi Jews are genetically descended from a Turkic minority that converted to Judaism in the Middle Ages rather than from the 12 tribes of Israel. 

Carlson is no longer merely offering commentary. He is actively undermining the central pillars of Trump’s legacy.

“It seems like a suicide mission for any Christian or Jew who doesn’t idolize Hitler to keep donating to the GOP,” Laura Loomer posted on X/Twitter late Monday.

In his interview with Saudi state network Al Liwan, Carlson hit out at the US government for going along with what he interpreted as Israel’s demands to overthrow the Islamic Regime in Iran. 

The President's Office issued a letter to Carlson, entirely denying any direct or indirect contact between Herzog and Epstein, which Carlson stated triggered the apology.

The interview has led to a debate in some sectors about how views on Israel and the Middle East are shaping US policy, and also how religious views have shaped policy in the region.

The controversy began when Carlson and Huckabee discussed a biblical verse that indicated land that including parts of Egypt, Syria and Iraq belonged to Israel.

The Trump administration deserves credit for recognizing the seriousness of antisemitism on the Right and the Israel divide feeding it. But it must be understood that invitations are not enough.

"If Tucker was really a 'journalist' he could have found out what I easily did later," Huckabee stated in response to one claim by Carlson that Israel had sheltered an accused sex offender.

Carlson will keep generating headlines. But Huckabee made the argument, and arguments have a longer half-life than clips. We should thank him for speaking the truth of Judeo-Christian values.
