Early Wednesday morning a man and a woman were arrested in Nablus and in the nearby town of Bil'in, respectively, under suspicion that they agreed to commit a suicide bombing against Israelis.

Later, the troops surrounded two more suspects who barricaded themselves inside a building in Nablus. A gun battle took place during that time.

One officer was lightly wounded in the neck in the exchange of fire. Israel Radio reported that at first his injuries were thought to be more severe, and so he was flown to Sheba Hospital at Tel Hashomer for treatment.

After the officer was taken away, the remaining forces successfully apprehended the two suspects.

The troops left the city when the operation was completed.
