The Hava gallery in Holon is turning into a multidisciplinary ecological art gallery, beginning with the "Flowerpot at the Hava" exhibition, which opened on Tuesday and will run through February 21.
The exhibition includes works by 50 artists of flowerpots, designed in advance of Tu Bishvat. It signifies the connection between the land and art. Each of the artistically interpreted flowerpots has a live plant in it. After the show concludes, the artwork will be sold on auction. Half of the proceeds will go to the artists, and the other half will go toward the encouragement of disabled artists.
The Hava (farm) gallery is located in an old Arab house built at the start of the last century. During excavations, remains of an old Hellenistic civilization were found there. The building is surrounded by an orchard of Israeli vegetation, including cacti, olive trees and almond trees.
