A-G: Migrants can be put in detention for non-violent crime

As part of greater efforts to control what he referred to as the "threat to public order from infiltrators," Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein announced that he had approved the legality of sending migrants who crossed into Israel illegally to detention for even non-violent crimes.
Previously, there was a special policy to send illegal migrants to detention in connection with violent crimes.
Now, even crimes such as violation of public order, theft and forgery could conceivably lead to special detention of migrants.
