WASHINGTON - Texas Senator Ted Cruz will announce his plan to seek the Republican presidential nomination on Monday, a Cruz aide told Reuters on Sunday. The first-term senator, who is scheduled to speak at Liberty University in Virginia on Monday, is a favorite of the conservative Tea Party movement. He would become the first Republican presidential candidate to announce a run for the 2016 election.
