The Arab League on Thursday expressed support for the continuation of indirect talks between Israel and the Palestinians.

The most important issue to consider was the Palestinian interests, not pressure from the US, the Arab League said in a Cairo meeting with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the renewal of direct talks.

According to an aide, the Arab League supports progressing with indirect talks in accordance with the PA's wishes, AFP reported Thursday.
