Some 40 eagles were released on Tuesday near Zin Valley, after being examined and marked for observatory purposes.

According to Israeli media, the number of eagles has dropped to 200 in recent decades as a result of poisoning and disruptions in their nesting and hunting habitats.

The 40 eagles were released in hopes of keeping the species from extinction.
