Beinisch voices doubts over efforts to forge constitution

Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch on Wednesday expressed doubts that efforts at constructing an Israeli constitution could bear fruit in the foreseeable future.
Beinisch was speaking at an event entitled “20 Years Since the Human Rights Revolution,”  marking the passage of Basic Law: Human Dignity and Liberty and Basic Law: Freedom of Employment, meant to eventually lead to constitution.
The Supreme Court president said that the events of the past year have proven that it is time to enact "Basic Law: Social Rights."
Speaking of the difficulty in forging a constitution, Beinisch stated, "In such a fractured and polarized society, attempts to find a common denominator are not simple."
