Ben-Gurion University to offer Israel-Germany program

Ben-Gurion University of the Negev signed an agreement with Die Hochschule für Jüdische Studien – a college for Jewish studies – in Heidelberg, Germany this week to launch a joint academic program.
The program, which will focus on Israel studies with a specialization in modern Jewish life and culture, will be run both on the BGU Sde Boker campus and in Heidelberg. It will be open to Israeli and German students and is expected to open in time for the 2014-2015 academic year.
“There is a lot of symbolism in the fact that the university which bears David Ben-Gurion’s name is establishing the first bilateral degree program between Israel and Germany,” said Dr. Paula Kabalo, director of the Ben- Gurion Research Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism.
