Cairo: Security beefed up at airport on 9/11

Egypt beefed up its security presence at the Cairo International Airport, especially for flights to New York and European cities, citing fears that al Qaida operatives may try to carry out a terrorist plot from the airport, Egyptian newspaper Al Masry Al Youm reported Sunday.
The report also said that security measures were stepped up around Air Sinai flights, the airline company that runs a route between Cairo and Tel Aviv, in light of last Friday night's violence at the Israeli embassy in Cairo.
