Canada to supply Israel with 6 firefighting aircraft

Canada will provide Israel with six firefighting aircraft in a deal worth two hundred million dollars, Israel Radio reported on Monday.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Canadian Defense Minister Peter Gordon McKay agreed that the six planes will be part of a new firefighting squadron that Israel plans to establish.The planes will be delivered within two years, Israel Radio reported.

The civil aviation authorities are expected to examine the aircraft and to confirm their operation in the country.
