Car thief shot by soldier at Rami Levy supermarket in Gush Etzion

An IDF soldier shot and badly wounded a suspected car thief caught by police allegedly trying to steal a car near the Gush Etzion junction.
Police from the Judea and Samaria district said that detectives patrolling the parking lot of the Rami Levy grocery store at the junction on the look out for car thieves saw two suspicious men trying to steal a car in the parking lot.
Police said the two officers approached the men and placed one under arrest, at which point the second began to flee on foot. It was at this point that a soldier at the scene shot and badly wounded the suspect who was fleeing, police said.
Magen David Adom paramedics said when they arrived the man was in serious condition and they provided him treatment at the scene.
