Professor Alan Dershowitz said on Sunday that the ultimate decision over a potential attack on Iran must be made by Israel, independent of the opinion of the President of the United States. He added that Israel needs the support of the United States.

Speaking at the Jerusalem Post Conference in New York, Dershowitz said that Israel has the legal and moral right to take unilateral action against Iran. "The case for action is extremely compelling," he said.

"Having said that, and I don't think ambassador Prosor would disagree with me, the international community might take a different view of the matter," he said.
