Dozens of Israeli civilians gathered in front of an IDF base near the Beit El settlement on Friday to protest the pending evacuation of the Ulpana outpost.

A number of the civilians tried to enter the base. IDF forces used riot-dispersal means, including a stun grenade, to disperse the crowd.

There were no injuries as a result of the incident.

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu blocked Knesset legislation that would have saved unauthorized settler homes from demolition – paving the way for the evacuation of five buildings built on private Palestinian land in the Ulpana outpost, on the outskirts of Beit El.

In compensation for the evacuation of Ulpana, the government announced authorization of 851 new homes in West Bank settlements.
