A Palestinian youth was lightly wounded by gunfire from Border Police forces at the eastern entrance of to the Issawiya neighborhood in east Jerusalem on Monday.

The shooting took place after the neighborhood's residents began throwing stones at security forces who were attempting to arrest a local youth.

According to police, the security forces reacted by shooting in the air and shot the suspect once in his arm as he was attempting to escape.
