Minister Michael Eitan (Likud) accused newly appointed IDF Chief of General Staff Yoav Galant of behaving like a "Mafioso" , ignoring the law over a long period of time, and questioned his ability to be effective in his new role as a result of this on Sunday.
According to Army Radio, Eitan cited a report drafted by the deputy attorney general which suggested that Galant had been implicated in unsavory behavior following a dispute with a neighbor over public lands.
Eitan voted against Galant's appointment.
