Organizers of a new flotilla set to depart for the Gaza strip in the coming weeks called on European countries Wednesday not to cave to Israeli pressure to halt their mission, asking for protection against alleged Israeli threats, Turkish newspaper Today's Zaman reported.

Their request comes after Israel asked Turkey to work in preventing the flotilla, saying that humanitarian aid can be delivered to Gaza through the legal channels instead.
