Gal-On: Likud-Beytenu merger helps Meretz stake out Left

Meretz chair Zehava Gal-On told Israel Radio on Tuesday that the merger between the Likud and Yisrael Beytenu parties would help her party present itself as the only real representative of the Left of the political spectrum.

The differences between the Left and Right are now clear, Gal-On said, using the popular moniker "Biberman" - an amalgamation of the names Bibi (Netanyahu) and Liberman - to deride her political opponents.
