IDF Maj.-Gen. Yoav Galant, who is set to become the next chief of staff, will appear before State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss in a hearing during which he is scheduled to present his version regarding allegations that he illegally seized land near his home in Moshav Amikam.

The meeting is projected to greatly affect his future position in the military.

Lindenstrauss is expected to ask Galant whether he lied to the local Planning and Building Committee and to the court over the lands affair, but his meeting with the state comptroller is only the beginning of a critical week for his professional life. Ultimately, Galant's fate hinges on the decision of Attorney-General, Yehuda Weinstein.
